Married Man Arrested Before Second Wedding In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A man was arrested from wedding mandap while he was on his way for his second wedding based on a complaint by his first wife.

The incident occurred last night at Mahanadi Vihar area of the city.

The accused, Biswaranjan Pati of Tulasipur, allegedly had a court marriage in June 2017 with the complainant. The duo studied in the same college and their relationship had developed gradually. He had made false promises to her of making their marriage public but had failed to do so even after three years.

She said,” As soon as I came to know that my husband is going to marry for the second time, I approached the police.”

Taking swift action, Chauliaganj Police interrupted the marriage and arrested accused Biswaranjan. A probe is underway, said police.

On the other hand family of the girl with whom Biswaranjan was about to marry, cooperated with the police and said that guilty must be brought to justice.
