Malkangiri: Initiating violence yet again, Maoists blew up a panchayat office building at Timurpalli under Mathili Police limits here late last night.

According to sources, as many as 40 red rebels triggered the blast in the area. While there have been no reports of casualties, several important documents and office supplies have been destroyed.

Reportedly, a Maoist poster was also found from the spot stating that the bomb attack was made protesting the anti-tribal activities like false encounter and arrests.

It is notable to mention here that, Maoists had attacked SOG jawans when they were conducting a combing operation in this area last week. Two jawans, who were grievously injured, had to be airlifted to Vishakhapatnam for treatment.

Four years back, the same panchayat office, Mahupada panchayat office and Salimi outpost had been blown up by the red rebels.
