Padia had been jobless for the last one year and was torturing Mude by abusing and assaulting her time and again. He also accused her of having illicit relationship with others.

Unable to bear the torture, Mude and her daughter Anjali decided to kill Padia and on the fateful day told him to visit a relative's house in a nearby village.

However, after arriving at the crime spot, Padia started consuming country-made liquor and abused both his wife and daughter in obscene language. Irate over it, the mother-daughter duo started hitting his head with a piece of stone and strangulated him.

After Padia died, the duo collected some dry straw from a nearby heap and set his body on fire to destroy the evidence.
