Nuapada: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly beheaded his 11-year-old nephew to offer sacrifice for good harvest at Jadamunda village under Komna police limits on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Dhansing Majhi.

As per reports, Dhansing Majhi along with his brother had gone to the farmland at around 11 am when accused Chintamani Majhi (48) called Dhansing to a farther part of the field and attacked him with a billhook.

Dhansing’s brother, who was watching the incident from a distance, screamed for help and villagers gathered at the spot. On intimation, cops reached the farm and arrested the accused.

During the course of interrogation, Chintamani reportedly confessed that he had sacrificed his nephew for Choru, a local term used for sacrifice.
