Man Murdered By ‘Son’ In Bhubaneswar-Based Hotel

Bhubaneswar: A man was allegedly murdered by a person who claimed to be his son at Sukanti Dormitory under Old Station Bazar in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as TB Rao (60) of Jatni, who was operating the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) at Bhubaneswar Railway Station to earn a living after his retirement.

Reportedly, Rao had arrived with a young man to the hotel at around 1.30 PM and identified themselves as father and son to book a room. After few minutes the young man left the hotel on pretext of going to buy soap.

It was when the hotel caretaker Baman Mahali was going to have his lunch, he noticed Rao lying in a pool of blood in his room. On getting information Laxmi Sagar police reached the spot and found Rao's throat slit.

Later, scientific team along with dog squad arrived at the crime scene. The dog squad traced the accused till Platform 4 of Bhubaneswar Railway Station but lost trail after that.
