Sambalpur: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly beheaded his cousin brother and fled with the head while the latter was peacefully sleeping outside his home at Tileimal village under Ainthapali police limits here on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified Satyanarayan Munda. Meanwhile, his cousin brother Ujwal Munda has surrendered with the head in a bag.

Satyanarayan was sleeping inside a mosquito net outside his house last night. In the morning, his family members spotted Munda’s headless body and informed the cops about it,” informed Bhawani Shankar Udgata, SDPO, Sambalpur.

While, cops along with scientific team and dog squad reached the spot and began probe into the matter in the morning, cousin brother Ujwal surrendered at Ainthapali police station with Satyanarayan's head in a bag in the afternoon.

While the reason behind the crime is yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that the brothers were involved in a land dispute.
