Make In Odisha Conclave 2020 To Be Held Between Nov 30 And Dec 4

Bhubaneswar: The State delegation organised Odisha Textiles & Apparel meet at Taj West End, Bengaluru which was attended by more than 25 companies from the sector. Industry Minister Dibya Sankar Mishra made the keynote address and described the vision for apparel and textiles sector development in the State. He expressed about how the State has changed over the past two decades under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Mishra discussed availability of a large number of quality, skilled workforce in the State for apparel industries. He also discussed regarding the proactive, stable and transparent governance in the State. He mentioned that the cost of doing business in the State is one of the lowest in the country and welcomed all participants to visit Odisha to explore the possibility of setting up a manufacturing base in the State.

In addition, the State delegation comprising Principal Secretary, Industries, Hemant Sharma, CMD IDCO,  Sanjay Kumar Singh, and MD, IPICOL  Nitin Jawale held meetings with 20 companies spanning across various sectors including food processing, auto components, apparel, downstream to metal, plastics & petrochemicals, aerospace & defence. The State delegation described the business ecosystem in the State, policy framework and investment opportunities for the companies.

This event was organised as a lead up to the Make in Odisha Conclave 2020 to be organised in the State between November 30 and December 4, 2020. Representatives from Shahi Exports, Page Industries and Aditya Birla Fashion shared their experience of investing in the State.
