Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood, a low pressure area has formed over northeast Bay of Bengal which is likely to become more marked into a depression during next 48 hours, informed the Regional Meteorological Department.
Due to this low pressure, rains are expected over the next 3 days.
On June 30, heavy rainfall (OrangeWarning: Be prepared) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Kendrapada, Cuttack and Mayurbhanj. Rainfall (Yellow Warning: Be updated) very likely to occur at Balasore, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Anugul, Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Koraput, Malkangiriand Nawarangpur.
On July 1, extremely heavy rain fall (Red warning: Take Action) likely over Sambalpur,Deogarh, Sonepur,Angul,Bargarh,Jharsuguda,Sundergarhand Dhenkanal. Heavy rainfall (orange warning: Be Prepared) in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi ,Kandhamal and Nawarangpur.
On July 2, rainfall (Yellow Warning: Be updated) over districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir and Sambalpur.
Due to low pressure area over northeast Bay of Bengal, gusty wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph likely to prevail over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood during 30th June to 2ndJuly,2019. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast during these days.
