Love Birds Commit Suicide In Odisha's Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: Bodies of a young boy and girl were found hanging from a tree on a hill near Tangini village under Dabugan panchayat in Nabarangpur district on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Kumari Jani (19) and Sunadhar Jani (18). They reportedly left their house last night when their family members were asleep and committed suicide by hanging themselves on the tree with a saree.

The incident came to light today morning when some villagers had gone to the hill and saw them hanging. On getting information, their family members rushed to the spot and identified their bodies.

Later, family members of both the boy and girl lodged a FIR at Dabugan police station based on which Police SI Rankanidhi Sahu and team rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem at Dabugan Community Health Centre (CHC) and handed over to respective families after completion of the formalities.

Reportedly, both the boy and girl were cousins. It is suspected that they committed suicide as their families would not have accepted their relationship.
