Looters' Gang Creating Ruckus in Capital City Identified, All Will Be Nabbed Soon: Police Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: On July 30, four armed robberies rocked capital city Bhubaneswar. Following this, Commissionerate Police formed a special squad and intensified night patrolling . In a major success, two from the looters' gang were nabbed in a police encounter today while all others have been identified and will be nabbed soon.

Twin City Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty said, "Robbery at car showroom in Puri by-pass road and attack on a hotel owner caused public ire last week. Two wanted criminals who were injured and nabbed in an encounter today were involved in these crimes. One belongs to Soro and other is from Athagarh."

"All other members of the gang have been identified and located. We are pursuing the leads and they will be nabbed soon. A big gang was operating and they have also commited crimes in other places. Investigation is on and we will not like to reveal all details at the moment," the Commissioner said.

Notably on Tuesday (July 30), an old man, a family of four, a car showroom owner and a hotelier were all targeted by armed robbers during different times of the day.
