Rourkela: Passengers of Mumbai-Howrah Lokmanya Tilak Express got panicked when a bogie of this super fast train caught fire between Lotapahad and Chakradharpur railway stations in neighbouring Jharkhand on Monday while all passengers were reportedly safe.

The train also left Chakradharpur railway station after necessary repair work at 12 noon, sources said.

According to sources, Jharkahnd Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control much prior to the repair work.

Sources informed that the guard noticed smoke emanating from the bogie and alerted the locomotive driver over walkie-talkie as well as the railway officials.

Panic-stricken passengers reportedly alighted from the stationary train at once.

The reason behind the smoke is claimed to be sparking in the break winding of one wheel.

However, the exact cause of the mishap is yet to be ascertained.
