Bhubaneswar: With the BJD yet to declare name of its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, ticket aspirants have begun thronging the residence of party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Former Minister and Loisingha MLA Jogendra Behera joined the bandwagon today and visited Naveen Niwas to lobby for a party ticket for his son Nihar Ranjan Behera, who is also the State Secretary of Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD).

After meeting the Chief Minister Jogendra said, "I have decided not to contest elections from now on. I am already old and have been MLA for four to five times and also been a minister, therefore I have decided to field my son in the coming elections."

He hopes that the party supremo respects his request as he has been the MLA since rule of Biju Patnaik and has a clean image.

On being questioned about his aspiration for the ticket, Nihar answered in the positive and said, "It depends on the blessings of the party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. As State Secretary of BYJD I am working for the party organisation in my area as per instruction of the party, but am not sure of the future."
