Liquor Shop Owner Loot: One More Criminal Injured In Police Encounter In Odisha's Bolangir

Bolangir: One more criminal involved in the firing on a liquor shop owner and loot case in Saintala was injured in police encounter on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, the accused identified as Krishna Kata was intercepted by police near Tusura Chowk.

However, in a bid to escape, Krishna open fired on the police team. In retaliation, the police team fired at him injuring him on his left leg.

He was immediately rushed to Saintala hospital and later shifted to VIMSAR in Burla.

Reportedly, some armed miscreants had allegedly opened fire at manager of a liquor shop near Gandatarapalli square under Saintala police limits on January 20 and had looted Rs 3.06 lakh from him.

Following it on January 26, an accused of the case identified as Bablu Mahanand was nabbed after being injured in a police encounter near Badamala forest on Bolangir-Titlagarh road.
