'KALIA' Scheme Will Usher In New Farm Revolution: Odisha CM On 70th R-Day Celebrations In Cuttack

Cuttack: Extending heartfelt greetings to everyone on the occasion of 70th Republic Day celebrations in silver city Cuttack, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik called upon one and all to dedicate their lives in serving the land and its countrymen.

After unfurling the Tricolor in Barabati Stadium and receiving salute at the colourful parade, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid homage to all jawans and brave hearts to the nation.

“On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt tributes to Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Netaji Subhas Bose, Sardar Patel, Maulana Azad, Dr BR Ambedkar, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Utkal Mani Gopabandhu Das, Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das, Nabakrushna Choudhury, Gopabandhu Choudhury, Shaheed Laxman Nayak, Veer Surendra Sai, Maa Ramadevi, Malati Choudhury, Dr Harekrushna Mahtab, Biju Patnaik and Parvati Giri for ensuring nation’s peace and security.”

“India has become a leading country in the world today. So I salute all jawans, farmers and labourers on this occasion,” he continued.

“Along with India’s development, Odisha too is making exemplary progress in all fields. Development is Odisha’s identity today. Poor people’s progress is Odisha’s identity. Empowerment of women, farmers and youth is Odisha’s identity. Progress of SC/ST people and labourers is Odisha’s identity today,” he added.

The CM further said, “Make in Odisha has given investors a ray of hope. Rs 4.2 lakh crore investment and 6 lakh new jobs along with successful organization of Men’s Hockey World Cup successful has brought pride to the State.”

“The State is going forward with everyone. Students, youth, women, farmers, labourers, everyone is together in this development. Malkangiri’s erstwhile cutoff area became self-sufficient after Gurupriya bridge. In addition to that, the State now has Biju Expressway, irrigation facilities to more than 8 lakh hectares of land, new medical colleges, and all of this have become new milestones in Odisha’s development,” he beamed.

Naveen Patnaik also added, “Electricity has reached all villages and 96 lakh families have benefitted from it. Odisha has also become a model for farmers and agriculture everywhere. Agriculture experts everywhere are saying this as over 12 lakh farmers have been benefitted from KALIA scheme yesterday. I have full faith that this scheme will create ripples.”

While signing off, he said, “Everyone is a part of this success story. We should dedicate our lives to serve the land and the countrymen.”
