Bhubaneswar: A leopard has been spotted moving in Palaspalli, a densely populated locality of the city. While the movement of the wild cat was captured on the CCTV camera on Sunday night, Forest Department officials confirmed today that it was a leopard.

A team from the City Wildlife Division rushed to Palaspalli, reviewed the CCTV footage and had a discussion with locals today.

According to a senior official of the Forest Department, the leopard could have moved out of Chandaka forest and crossed over to Airfield area through NH 16.

The emergence of a leopard has spread scare in the locality. While efforts are on to locate the wild cat, the department has decided to tranquilize it on the wee hours of Tuesday.
