Bhubaneswar: Don't confine your learning to textbooks, advised Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to children attending the valedictory function of state-level children festival 'Suravi' at Unit-IX Govt. Boys' High School in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Patnaik said that it is an age of learning and asked the children to update their knowledge on a regular basis. He advised them to choose any field that interests them and try to excel in it.

While advising them to face the challenges of life with courage, Patnaik said, "True education is that which empowers us to face the challenges of life with a positive attitude."

Accordingly, he told them to move forward in life with confidence, be a good human being and fulfill dream of their parents. Patnaik also said that there is no alternative to education and advised the children to continue their studies, go to school regularly and encourage others to go to school.

The three-day annual children’s festival “Suravi” organized by the School and Mass Education Department commenced from November 14 on Children's Day.

Various school students got an opportunity to take part in workshops, competitions and exhibitions in the festival. Students who had excelled in the competitions were awarded today by the Chief Minister.
