Bhubaneswar: In response to the media reports that the Ganjam police have issued notice to BJP leader Bhrugu Baxipatra in connection with the 2017 Laxmidutta Pradhan murder case, Baxipatra has denied that he has received such a notice.

“I came to know from the TV scrollings that a notice has been issued to me in connection with 2017 Laxmidutta Pradhan murder case in Chhatrapur. However, I am yet to receive any such notice,” Baxipatra has tweeted.

His tweet has also mentioned, “Ironically, the Police had initiated chargesheet in this case long ago. I was never approached by the Cops in the past. So, I am surprised that my name has cropped up in the case.”

He has further alleged, “It seems that the State Govt is getting vindictive and using the police to settle political scores.”

“My family has earned huge respect and goodwill in Odisha over the decades. We have always stood for justice and respected the law of the land. I will co-operate with the police in connection with the case. I am sure truth will prevail,” the BJP leader has also tweeted.
