Bhubaneswar: The elusive male friend of the lawyer who committed ‘suicide’ and whose manhunt was underway, surrendered today at the Khurda Session Court.

On October 20, the body of Deepali Priyadarshini, a lawyer, was found hanging in her room at Indira Colony under Dhauli police limits in Bhubaneswar. The Commissionerate Police had launched a search for her male friend- Bikram Mishra the next day.

According to the police, Bikram was present on the premises when the mishap occurred. However, it was learnt that she had locked herself up in a room, before resorting to the extreme step.

In order to evade the detention, Bikram had knocked the doors of Odisha High Court which in turn ordered him to surrender before the Sessions Court.
