Lawyer Deepali's 'Suicide': Police Launches Manhunt For Male Friend

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police have launched a search for the male friend of lawyer Deepali Jena who allegedly committed suicide in her rented house on Sunday.

According to the police, the male friend of Deepali was present on the premises when the mishap occurred. However, it is learnt that she had locked herself up in a room, before resorting to the extreme step.

DCP Anup Sahoo said, "We will detain the male friend of the deceased and question him about the fateful day. Further investigation will throw light on the circumstances which led to the mishap."

Meanwhile, the lawyers have expressed grief on Deepali's death. She was a bright student and law practitioner.

"Deepali was a member of my chamber for quite some time now, and was a nice human being. Though am not sure about the involvement of her friend, once he is questioned, details can be unearthed," Prasanna Kumar Sahoo, a senior lawyer based in Bhubaneswar said.
