Cuttack: A lady teacher was critically injured after being attacked with a sharp weapon on the premises of Ambapada ME School under Niali police limits in Cuttack district on Monday.

Reportedly, she was attacked by a youth when she was teaching in a classroom of the school. She sustained grievous injuries on her head and shoulder and immediately rushed to Niali Community Health Center (CHC) and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

On getting information, the lady teacher's husband Soubhagya Mohapatra reached the spot and caught hold of the accused from Charichhak area with help of locals and later handed him over to police.

Meanwhile the accused, identified as Bibhuna Mohanty of Ambapada village, has been detained by Niali Police and subjected to interrogation to ascertain the exact reason behind the attack.
