**Bhubaneswar: ** Kharvel Nagar police has arrested a woman executive officer of the E-Book fraud from Keonjhar in course of the investigation into a complaint lodged with it 20 days ago.
The Commissionerate Police here is planning to seek her remand for extracting vital information on the tainted firm named IQBS.
The 22-year-old arrested woman executive officer has been identified as Urbashi Nayak.
As per police sources, the fraudulent modus operandi has its links out of the State following which a team of sleuths from the Commissionerate Police here has been despatched out of Odisha to round up other accused.
As per reports, the firm had opened its office here near Shriya Talkies in May last year. While one Vikrant Sharma was allegedly its head, his other colleagues were Kuldeep Sharma, Sumeet Bharadwaj and arrested Urbashi Nayak.
By issuing media advertisement wooing job-seekers for digitalising foreign books and earn money, the IQBS allegedly duped over 60 such gullible job-seekers to a tune of Rs 2 crore.
The aggrieved victims of the fraudulent firm had on May 29 filed an FIR with the Kharvel Nagar Police Station here. Acting promptly, the police consequently swooped down on Urbashi at her Keonjhar-based home while the other co-accused are still at large.
