Bhubaneswar: A lady bank manager of a nationalised bank has allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Baramunda Housing Board Colony under Khandagiri Police limits on Thursday.

The deceased identified as Ranjita Rao was reportedly working as Senior Manager at Ashok Nagar branch of UCO Bank. The reason behind her taking such an extreme step could not be established yet.

A native of Nabarangpur, Ranjita was staying in a rented house in Housing Board Colony and her mother was staying with her for the last ten days. Her father had also come to stay with them on Wednesday.

Her mother R Maheswari Rao said that Ranjita's behaviour was normal on the previous night. It was early today morning that her father noticed the dead body and let out a scream. Following it, Ranjita's mother called the neighbours.

She further informed that Ranjita's physical health had deteriorated in last few days and therefore she was staying with her daughter. They had even visited a hospital where the doctor suggested her to follow a healthy diet.

Maheswari finally said that whatever may be the reason behind her death, she should have been mentally strong and thought about her parents.

Her father R Narayan Rao said that Ranjita was very strong and bold lady and still is unable to believe that she has committed suicide.
