Know What The New Faces In Naveen’s Team Have To Say After Swearing-In Ceremony

Bhubaneswar: Scripting history, Naveen Patnaik today took oath as the Chief Minister of Odisha for the fifth term. Along with him, 20 Ministers assumed charge of office. In the mixed bag, there are some old faces and some new ones. While the former Ministers have experience, all eyes are now set on the new faces and the responsibilities they will undertake.

The first-time Ministers are Telkoi MLA Premananda Nayak, Titlagarh MLA Tukuni Sahu (Woman), Nimapara MLA Samir Das, Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das, Kotpad MLA Padmini Dian (Woman), Balikuda-Erasama MLA Raghunandan Das, Junagarh MLA Dibyashankar Mishra, Bissam Cuttack MLA Jagannath Saraka, Simulia MLA Jyotiprakash Panigarhi, and Kakatpur MLA Tusharkanti Behera.

OMMCOM NEWS caught up with some of them after the swearing-in ceremony today and this is what they had to say.

Dibya Shankar Mishra said, “According to Chief Minister’s directions and as per the responsibility entrusted to me, I will make sure that all schemes and development programs reach each and every farmer and daily-wage labourer at the grassroots level.” He is in-charge of Energy; Industries; Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Departments.

Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi has been given charge of Tourism; Odia Language, Literature & Culture. He said, “I don’t think I will encounter any challenges because I will ensure that the strategies are strong. I will manage everyone’s expectations to the fullest degree,” he said.

Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kisore Das said, “All steps will be taken to form a new Odisha as per the recommendations of Naveen Patnaik.” Tukuni Sahu, Women & Child Development Minister, said, “This massive verdict is the call of vikash (development) by people of Odisha. I will responsibly fulfill all my duties to contribute towards this development model.”
