Puri: Pradeep Kumar Das, who has experienced various happenings during his stint as the Chief Administrator (Rituals) of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in Puri, spoke his heart out today after handing over his charge to Biswajit Biswal.

Talking with mediapersons, Das said that around 90 to 95 per cent servitors in the Puri Srimandir are good. It is because of their attitude of sacrifice and piety that the rituals are performed in an organized way. It was because of their support, there was no problem in conducting rituals of the deities.

Briefing over the disappearance of the Ratna Bhandar key, Das said that during inspection of temple register of the year 1964, it was found that the Collector was the custodian of the key. The Ratna Bhandar had been opened in 1978 for inventory and again in 1983 and 1985.

The said duplicate key found in the record room of Puri Collector office is the original key, Das opined.

Biswal, who was the Additional secretary to Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment department, replaced Das who has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary of Water Resources Department.
