Bhubaneswar: While Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Chandra Sarangi were the two MPs from Odisha inducted into the Union Council of Ministers on Thursday, first-time MP and ex-IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi was also a strong contender to be a part of the Modi 2.0 team, after conquering the prestigious Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat for the BJP.

However, while addressing mediapersons today, Sarangi said it has been only six months since she joined the party, she is new and needs to learn from everyone and move forward. Presently, she will focus on her constituency, visit various villages and follow the instructions of party leaders as and when given.

The MP said she lives in the present and not looking into the past and future. She has entered politics to serve people and not concerned about any position. She plans to gain the faith of the people who have not voted for her in the recent polls.

Sarangi plans to hold discussion over the guidelines of MPLAD scheme with the district Collector for proper implementation of the scheme and development of various places. While she will continue to visit each and every wards and villages as was doing prior to the polls, Sarangi said she has thought of setting up a People's Welfare Fund after holding a discussion with her friends.
