Know The Arrangements Of Commissionerate Police For Safe Holi Celebrations

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has not only issued an advisory but is also taking various measures to ensure that the denizens of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar enjoy a safe and healthy Holi.

To check rise in incidents of communal violence, patrolling and police picketing will be done in the areas from where such cases have been reported in the past, informed Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty today.

As revellers encounter with mishaps at water bodies after completing the celebrations, the persons who don't know swimming have been advised not to venture into deep water and ODRAF team has also been put on alert to avoid such incidents.

While use of organic colour have been advised, the Commissionerate Police has asked the State Pollution Control Board to deploy staff for conducting raids and checking use of chemical colours. Besides, 15 platoons of police force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar and 10 platoons in Cuttack.

While 16 special mobile patrol teams will be active in Bhubaneswar, eight such teams will be active in Cuttack. All PCR vans will also be used for mobile patrolling and traffic enforcement will also be intensified to check speed biking and sound pollution.

Further, armed picketing will be conducted at 28 places and striking force along with ODRAF teams deployed at four sensitive places in Bhubaneswar. Likewise, armed picketing will be conducted at 28 places and striking force along with ODRAF teams deployed at two sensitive places in Cuttack.

Mohanty further said the police cannot intervene in the celebrations held at private places, such as clubs, unless they receive any complaint.
