Bhubaneswar: With first phase polling for four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly seats in Odisha held on Thursday, establishing faith of around 60.03 lakh voters on the security arrangements has also been a major challenge for Odisha Police.

OMMCOM NEWS met with some voters to know their expectations and how are they are going to rate the present security arrangements.

A first time voter Janmejaya Panda appreciated the security arrangements at a booth in Berhampur and rated it 8 out 10. He acknowledged how the security personnel are being supportive to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

As all the major political parties have been focusing on women empowerment, the turnout of women voters and their opinions also matter.

A woman identified as Shraddha Mohapatro, after casting her vote at another booth in Berhampur along with her family members, claimed that exercising her right after a gap of five years was a good experience because of the security arrangements.

She said of having other expectations but found the people supportive and rated the security arrangements 9 out 10 due to absence of chaos and proper management of crowd.

Similarly, a second time voter Swatilekha Sahu also complimented the security arrangements and rated it 7.5 out of 10.
