Bhubaneswar: With a lot of change in the trends of celebrating festivals, OMMCOM NEWS met with some denizens of the State Capital to know their way of making the ongoing Durga Puja memorable.
A teenage girl Soumya Mishra celebrates the festival by visiting various pandals in the city along with family friends. While the darshan of Maa Durga is the major priority for her during the outings, shop hopping with friends comes next.
With four holidays in hand, a working youth Bapi celebrates the festival by going out and watching movies with friends. Like every other denizen he also enjoys the grandeur of the puja pandals.
For family man Sachidananda Panigrahi, the Durga Puja is celebrated in a grand manner in Bhubaneswar providing unique experience. Visiting the pandals with his family once in a day is not enough for him. Even his daughter enjoys the visits.
Durga Puja is the most important festival of the year for another family man Milan Kumar Biswal. Wherever he may be throughout the year, he returns to Bhubaneswar to celebrate it with his children. Besides pandal hopping, they watch movies, enjoy ice cream and visit malls for maximum utilisation of their time.
Pandal hopping and shopping is also part of the celebrations for another girl in her twenties, Sasmita Das. Similar is the situation for another family man Hrudaranjan who after enjoying the festival, have a dine out with family before returning home.
Manoj Kumar Nayak is a youth who loves to move around the city with friends till his heart content. Besides visiting various pandals in Bhubaneswar, their plan includes witnessing the puja in Cuttack. A night out during the puja is a memorable experience for him because of the light decoration.
