Kandhamal Mini-Truck Mishap: Odisha CM Announces Rs 2 Lakh Ex-Gratia For Kin Of Deceased

Bhubaneswar: Expressing deep condolences over the death of twelve people in the Kandhamal mini-truck tragedy of Tuesday morning, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for kin of the deceased.

The Chief Minister also announced free treatment to the injured in the bus tragedy at Kandhamal. As many as twelve people died and over 25 others sustained critical injuries after the mini truck they were traveling in overturned and plunged into a gorge here today morning.

Reportedly, the incident occurred when the mini truck was traveling from Gadapur to Brahmani village and the driver lost control over the wheels. The vehicle fell off Poiguda ghat road and took a deep plunge into the gorge killing many people on the spot. The injured persons are currently undergoing in MKCG Hospital in Berhampur.
