Kalpana Dash's Body To Reach Bhubaneswar Tonight, Last Respects To Be Paid At Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: Mortal remains of Lt. Kalpana Dash, Odisha's first Everester, will reach Bhubaneswar at about 9 pm on Saturday from Kathmandu, informed Odisha Sports & Youth Services Department.

To pay last respects, arrangements have been made to keep her body in Kalinga Stadium complex, inner circle of the Athletic stadium from 9: 30 pm to 10: 30 pm. 

Kalpana had breathed her last on May 23 while descending from Everest summit. It took the sherpas and rescue team over a week to retrieve her body from Everest balcony and bring it to Kathmandu. After the body reached Nepal's capital city on May 30, all formalities were completed and a three-member team from Odisha will fly out with the body today.
