Bhubaneswar: In the close heels of the arrest of seven persons including a juvenile in connection with the gang rape of a girl in Junagarh, the survivor has accused her acquaintance as the mastermind behind the incident and threatened to commit suicide if he is let free.

The girl reported that after completing some personal work in Bhawanipatna on the fateful day, she had gone to the bus stand to return to her village. It was where she met the driver of Subhadra bus, Narendra Sabar, who offered her to drop her home.

As the driver was well known to the girl, she accepted the offer. However, on the way he received some phone calls following which he deliberately slowed down the vehicle and stopped it near Banamalipur.

It was when six persons arrived and abducted her to the jungle and outraged her modesty. It was Sabar who first raped her and the other followed, alleged the girl. She has demanded that her perpetrators including Sabar should be awarded death sentence.

Meanwhile, State BJP secretary Lekhasri Samantsinghar in a press meet in Bhubaneswar on Friday alleged that Sabar is allowed to let go free as he is the driver of the bus owned by Kalahandi district BJD working president Prabodh Rath, who is very close to Junagarh MLA and Home Minister Dibya Sankar Mishra.

In reaction, Mishra said that such allegations are not acceptable. Let the police do its work as all the evidences are present with them and they will take appropriate action in this regard. It is a very sensitive issue so it should not be politicised said Mishra while terming the allegations as baseless.
