Junagarh Gang Rape Accused To Be Booked Soon: Dibya Shankar Mishra

Bhubaneswar: The culprits will be brought to book under the law, stated Minister of State (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra in his reaction on the alleged gang-rape of an Auxillary Nurse Midwife (ANM) student near Junagarh, the video of which has gone viral.

"Whosoever is guilty will be brought before the law by the Home department," informed the Minister giving his reactions to the media on the Junagarh gang-rape.

Reminding the media of the strict orders of the Chief Minister for not letting go any criminal committing crime against women or causing injustice to women, Mishra said:

"The police is fully proactive. Investigation is underway. I have spoken to the SP and ADG Crime and have discussed the matter with them."

He added that the government was prepared to see to it that the culprits get the severest of punishment.

It may be mentioned here that a video of an ANM student getting gang-raped has been doing rounds on social media.

The incident had reportedly occurred near Jaring forest on National Highway-26 somewhere between Junagarh and Bhawanipatna.

As per reports, the victim had gone to Bhawanipatna for some personal work and had missed the bus for her return.

She sought help from an acquaintance and took a ride in his car. They were stopped mid-way by miscreants who had their faces covered. The miscreants then raped the vicitm taking turns. They allegedly the vicitm and her friend with dire consequences if they ever spoke on this matter, the reports added.
