Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday urged the opposition not to politicise the death of woman village level worker (VLW) at Jajpur and let the police carry out a thorough probe. Addressing mediapersons here, BJD Spokesperson Sulata Deo said that the case is sensitive as well as unfortunate.

"We urge the BJP leaders to allow the police to carry out a thorough and impartial probe. There is no point in politicising the issue."

Earlier in the day, a delegation of the BJP met DGP BK Sharma and demanded a detailed investigation into the incident. BJP Spokesperson Samir Mohanty said that the local police was trying to suppress the case.

"The manner in which Jajpur SP narrated the sequence of events was unfortunate. He should have been sensible. There is a political connect to this case which should be thoroughly probed," Mohanty said.
