J&K Attack: Odisha CM Condoles Odia Jawans’ Martyrdom, Announces Ex-Gratia, Talks To Kin Over Phone

Bhubaneswar: Following the terror attack that claimed the lives of 45 CRPF jawans in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday night, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conveyed his condolences and announced Rs 10 lakh ex gratia for each bereft kin of the two Odia martyrs and also talked to them over phone.

Naveen Patnaik also took to Twitter and wrote, “I am deeply saddened over the heart-wrenching martyrdom of two Odia CRPF jawans Prasanna Kumar Sahoo and Manoj Kumar Behera in the dastardly Pulwama terror attack. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereft family members and pray for the departed souls to Rest in Peace.”

While ‘very strongly’ condemning the terror attack, Chief Minister also talked and consoled the family members over the phone. Naveen Patnaik has instructed the Finance and Health Ministers to meet the family members. Besides, he also observed a minute of silence in the State Secretariat.

The Chief Minister has appealed all educational institutions across the State to observe two minutes silence at 11 am on Saturday to pay tribute to the brave martyrs.
