Bhubaneswar: Besides having written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make Centre’s PM-KISAN Yojana more inclusive and enhance the financial assistance, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today strongly demanded that Rs 10,000 instead of Rs 6,000 should be given to the farmers as they should not be deprived of their legitimate right.

Addressing the public during his Puri district visit today, the Chief Minister stated, “Do you know the Centre’s KISAN Yojana hasn’t any benefits for the small farmers, landless farmers and sharecroppers? I have demanded before the Prime Minister for this facility and to include all the farmers.”

“Not Rs 6,000, Rs 10,000 should be given as the due right of the farmer,” demanded the Odisha Chief Minister.

He also stated, “You all know that the Odisha Government is providing loan facility to the farmers at zero interest. The mothers of the Mission Shakti are also being provided interest free loan. You all should reap the benefit.”

“The empowerment of farmers, women and youth communities is our motto. Their empowerment will be the identity of new Odisha,” CM Naveen Patnaik averred.
