Indian Navy Job Aspirant Drowns To Death During Swimming Practice In Odisha's Ganjam

Berhampur: In an unfortunate and ironic incident, an engineering student-cum-India Navy aspirant drowned to death while practicing swimming in Lanjipali Sing Tank under B.N.pur police limits here today morning.

The deceased has been identified as Kuldip Kumar Nayak (23).

The incident occurred at around 9.15 am today morning when Kuldip and his brother Khetra Mohan Nayak (20) were practicing swimming for a job interview in the Navy.

Unfortunately, Kuldip started drowning in the middle of the tank and when Khetra tried to save him, he too was being engulfed in the water.

Local people saw this and were able to rescue Khetra to safety on-time. The fire personnel were then called on spot to recover Kuldip’s body from the 20-feet-deep tank.

After the rescue operation, Kuldip was rushed to MKCG Medical College & Hospital but the doctors declared him dead.
