Cuttack: After arresting TV serial actress Laxmipriya Behera aka Nikita’s husband Lipan Sahu on charges of her murder, DCP Akhilesvar Singh informed, “Circumstantial evidence shows that Lipun is guilty of her murder. On the fateful day, both of them had an argument and they went to the terrace. There was a scuffle between both and Nikita fell off the terrace. We will forward the arrested husband in the court today.”

“Though her husband denies of forcefully pushing her, we are yet to find out the real truth behind the incident. But it is very evident; there was a scuffle between both of them. All the other family members were in the house and these two had gone to the terrace when this occurred,” he further said to the media persons.

Notably, they got married in 2016 and problems arose after four months. It basically started among Nikita and her mother-in-law regarding her timings of work. Then the couple stayed separately. After their premature baby was born, they stayed with the parents for proper care of the child. On that particular day, the dispute started on a very trifle issue which got magnified.

“Case has been registered under the IPC sections of murder, conspiracy and domestic violence. There are indications that the mother-in-law and father-in-law were involved in domestic violence and harassed her mentally and physically,” informed the ACP.

“Accused has confessed of a scuffle over the terrace. We are awaiting the post mortem report,” he further said.

Odia actress Nikita died on Saturday due to the injuries sustained after falling from the terrace of her father’s house the previous night in Mahanadi Vihar area.
