Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of workers and activists of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in presence of party supremo-cum-Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.

Reportedly, scores of workers of the saffron party from Basta and Bhograi assembly constituencies in Balasore district joined BJD under leadership of BJP's National Council member Shyam Prasad Behera and BJP's district General Secretary Ajay Sahoo.

Likewise, ex-MLAs of JMM from Bangriposi and Raghunathpali assembly constituencies, Arjun Kumar Murmu and Halu Mundari respectively, joined the BJD along with their supporters.

Further, Kamlesh Agrawal, vice-president of Rajgangpur Town Congress and president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) also joined the BJD today at Naveen Niwas. Welcoming all of them, Patnaik said that their joining with strengthen the party.
