Malkangiri: Setting an example for his contemporaries, Biju Janata Dal's Chitrakonda candidate Purna Chandra Baka halted his campaign rally to help accident victims and also lent out his main campaign vehicle to take the injured persons to hospital.

The incident occurred when Purna Chandra Baka and his supporters were campaigning in Bamanaguda village in Mathili area. At that time, two persons of Durkajodi village, who were traveling in a bike, hit a roadside tree and were grievously injured. Purna Chandra Baka immediately stopped his rally and attended to the two persons.

He immediately called an ambulance to help the accident victims. When the ambulance was delayed, he told his supporters to use his campaign vehicle and take the injured persons to Mathili Community Health Centre (CHC).

Due to his display of humanity, the persons were treated and infused with a fresh lease of life.
