Bhubaneswar: New Year’s Eve in the city is the time for fetes and social feasts and to dig into the last-minute fun. People enjoy partying with friends and family members at popular hotels till late night.

To make 31st December 2019 memorable and welcome 1st January 2020 in style hotels, clubs and restaurants in the city are decked up and busy in decoration to create an attractive ambience to celebrate 31st night.

While some have roped in dance troupes from Thailand, others have invited DJs from Mumbai for livening up New Year bash. All are ready to serve delicious, lip-smacking food to their customers too.

City-based premier hotel Mayfair Lagoon is known for its month-long New Year celebrations which begins on December 5 and extends till January 5. However, the Hotel Management said that it believes in offering special in-house services on New Year eve instead of outdoor events.

Executive Director of Mayfair hotels, Souvagya Mohapatra said that all Food and Beverage outlets of the property have made special arrangements to serve the customers in a grand way.

"We do not have outdoor parties since 2012, rather focus on serving our in-house guests in a grand scale on the New Year eve. There are around five F and B units in the hotel with 100 percent occupancy. So, our focus will be to cater to our guests and celebrate New Year here," he added.

On the other hand, another premium hotel of the city, Swosti Premium has made special arrangements with two events on its premises. 'Shimmer 2020' will be a bash of DJs, food and music in one of the halls of the hotel. Couples will have to pay Rs 7,699 for a ticket of this event, said Snehasis Chakraborty, a hotel manager.

"Enjoy with food, snacks and as many as three DJs at the event. We also have invited a Salsa dance couple from Thailand. We have designed it in a new neon theme - Glow and Shine," he added.
