Bhubaneswar: Severe heat wave conditions have gripped Odisha as temperature above 40 degree Celsius was recorded at eleven stations on Sunday, as per the evening bulletin of India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Highest temperature of 44.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Talcher followed by 44.0 degree Celsius at Sambalpur, Titlagarh and Malkangiri.
Likewise, temperature of 43.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Bolangir, 43.6°C at Sonepur, 43.1°C at Hirakud, 43.0°C at Jharsuguda, 42.6°C at Bhawanipatna, 41.1°C at Angul and 41.0°C at Sundargarh.
The IMD bulletin further reported that heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at some places over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir and Nuapada till May 29.
