Hardcore PLFI Leader Arrested In Sundargarh

Rourkela: An area commander of Peoples' Liberation Front of India (PLFI), who is involved in over 15 murder, extortion and loot cases, was arrested by police in Bisra area of Sundargarh district on Thursday.

The accused have been identified as Sudama Singh, a resident of Badaiktola village in Simdega district of Jharkhand. Based on a piece of reliable information about his presence in Bisra, police had conducted a raid and nabbed him at around 7.45 PM. Police also seized one single shot country-made pistol and one live ammunition from his possession.

Reportedly, Sudama was working under PLFI leader Dinesh Gupta of Jharkhand. He was operating in Bano area of Jharkhand and in the bordering areas of Hatibari and Bisra of Sundargarh. He has been active since 2007 till date. He is a professional murderer and has committed a series of murder in Bano area under Jharkhand. He is so infamous that the businessmen and political people are afraid of him. He used to commit extortion from businessmen on gunpoint under PLFI banner. His criminal activities are not reported out of death.

As per police sources, Sudama used to commit crime with veteran PLFI criminals Chandrabhanu Singh and Bhisma Sahaya. He has in his name a total of 15 cases lodged so far out of which seven are sensational murder cases in Jharkhand; five cases of Arms Act including four in Jharkhand and one in Bisra; two cases of loot at gunpoint in Hatibari of Sundargarh district in 2017 including Hatibari Co-Operative bank loot and one case of attempt to murder at Mitkundri under Bisra area in 2017.

He had been earlier arrested on December 2017 in the attempt to murder case. In this case the son of one Sarpanch namely Mahadev Mundari had contacted Sudama to kill one Dinesh Mundari of Jagda for Rs 3 lakh due to land dispute. Accordingly, Sudama along with associates Bhisma and Chandrabhanu fired two rounds on the chest of the accused but he was able to survive the bullet wounds after a prolonged treatment at IGH, Rourkela.
