Puri: The annual festival of Glory Fest entered into its silver jubilee this year and the celebration was anything but grand.
The week-long National Level Inter-University College Cultural Festival came to an end at Puri beach last night. Present at the event were Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Puri MLA Jayant Sadangi, and several other dignitaries including the festival’s organisation committee’s secretary Rajesh Mohanty.
The fest was inaugurated on January 6 at Puri town hall in the presence of Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal. The annual fest’s celebration hit its peak in its last three days where on January 11 Ollywood Night was organized followed by Glory Queen’s competition on 12th. The week-long fest ended with a gala Bollywood Night with Indian Idol fame Salman Ali and Riya Bhattacharya enthralling the audience with their music. The competition winners were also awarded last night.
The highlight of the event was the crowning of Glory Queen. Pratikhya Aauskankshya of Govt. Autonomous College, Rourkela won the title. Adhyasha Adisakti Aahoo of Hi-tech Medical College, Bhubaneswar was adjudged as first runners-up; Shivani Bhagal also of Govt. Autonomous College, Rourkela won the title of second runners-up.
During the week-long festival, several competitions are held who winners were announced last night.
