Ghulam Nabi Azad Praises Odisha Govt & Media For Effective 'Cyclone Awareness'

Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad was in all praises for Odisha Government and the State's media which he said was instrumental in saving lives from the devastating cyclone Fani.

Addressing mediapersons on the sidelines of a party meeting at the Congress Bhavan here on Friday, Azad said, "I congratulate Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the media of Odisha which acted swiftly to create awareness among vulnerable pockets. The evacuation was very essential and executed effectively."

Azad recollected his three-week stay in Odisha in the aftermath of 1999 super cyclone and added that the communication and dissipation of life-saving messages, then and now have changed enormously.
