Garage Owner Mowed Down By Rival's Bolero In Odisha's Nayagarh

Nayagarh: A man was mowed down by a speeding Bolero on National Highway 57 near Dimirijhari village under Nuagaon police limits of Nayagarh district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Jagannath Pradhan, who has a garage in the village. He was returning home from his garage when the mishap occured.

Irate over this, villagers staged a road blockade on the spot alleging Pradhan has been murdered as the Bolero belonged to his rival Braja Kishore Sahu.

While police reached the spot and pacified the mob, the villagers set the house of the Sahu on fire. On getting information, fire brigade from Nuagaon reached at the spot and doused the flames.

Both Pradhan and Sahu have their own garages and had a fight over some issue. A case in this regard had also been registered at the Nuagaon Police Station.

Pradhan had yesterday in his Facebook post stated that his life is in danger from the accused and sought support to save his life. A complaint in this regard was filed by his wife at Nuagaon Police Station.

Based on the complaint, police have arrested Sahu and subjected him to interrogation.
