Bhubaneswar: Very few people know that Father of Nation 'Mahatma Gandhi' had visited Odisha eight times during the Indian Independence movement. To spread awareness on Gandhiji's connection with Odisha, a three-day-long unique exhibition was inaugurated by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Exhibition Ground today.

Soon after witnessing the State-level parade on the occasion of Independence Day, everyone rushed to the Exhibition area to experience history at its finest.

Krupasindhu Mishra, Director of Information and Public Relations Department said, "Whenever Gandhiji visited Odisha, he interacted and motivated people. The chair and mat used by him during his Kathajodi meeting have been put on display at the exhibition. We want people to know more about his connection to Odisha," he added.

"On the occasion of 73rd Independence Day and since Gandhiji's 150th birth anniversary is fast approaching, we thought this would be a befitting tribute," Mishra concluded.
