Gambler Drowns To Death In Bid To Escape Police Clutch In Odisha's Malkangiri

Malkangiri: A gambler drowned to death in a bid to escape police during raid at a gambling den at Balimela under Orkel police limits of Malkangiri district on Friday.

Reportedly, four gamblers including the deceased Binod Chemudu had jumped into a river during the raid. While three of them managed to swim back to safety, Binod had gone missing.

His body was fished out of the river today morning by the fire services personnel after which hundreds of persons, including his family members and villagers, gheraoed the Orkel Police Station holding the police responsible for his death.
