Bhubaneswar: A 29-year-old man has tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha. The person in question is male and belongs to Bhadrak. He had recently returned from Dubai.
Confirming this case, the Health and Family Welfare Department tweeted: "Fourth COVID-19 confirmed case; 29 years old male of Bhadrak district with travel history to Dubai."
Health Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal spoke to Bhadrak Collector and asked him to shift the patient to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Dhal further instructed to isolate the close contacts and get them tested and trace all contacts as soon as possible. Mission Director, National Health Mission, Shalini Pandit is monitoring the follow up action, the Department stated.
Total 137 samples were tested today out of which, one sample tested at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar turned out to be positive for coronavirus. According to the data released by the Department:
Total 473 samples were tested till Monday. On Tuesday, 137 samples were tested at three facilities in the State. Here are the details:
RMRC, Bhubaneswar: 119 (all negative)
AIIMS, Bhubaneswar: 15 (1 positive)
SCB MCH, Cuttack: 3 (all negative)
The H & FW Department stated that the fourth COVID-19 patient did not have any symptoms. Hence people with travel history but no symptoms should not be complacent. "They must follow home quarantine for two weeks and then self monitor their health condition for another two weeks," the Department stated.
