Four Special Teams Formed To Probe Puri Gang Rape: Odisha DGP

Bhubaneswar: Puri police have set up four teams to investigate into the gang rape case of a girl which took place at Puri on Monday evening.

DGP Satyajit Mohanty said that two teams are pressed into action for nabbing the accused who are still at large while the other teams are engaged in building a strong chragesheet in this case to ensure stringent punishment against the accused.

"Soon after registering the case, raids were conducted and two accused have been arrested so far. One of them is a dismissed constable of Puri police. The investigation is on and strict action shall be taken against all the accused persons," said Mohanty.

The DGP added that the case would be chargesheeted soon. To ascertain the age of the victim, the birth certificate or school admission certificate will be verified in course of the investigation. "We will also seek doctors' reports to verify the age of the victim in this case."
