Four Samples From Odisha Test Negative For Coronavirus

Bhubaneswar: Four blood samples and swabs sent from Odisha to the National Institute of Virology in Pune have tested negative for the Novel Coronavirus.

These samples were sent by Regional Medical Research Center, Bhubaneswar. Three were of Chinese citizens working as contractors in Odisha while the fourth one was of a local.

All four had returned from China recently. Another sample of an MBBS student from Phulbani was sent by the SCB Medical College to NIV Pune. The result is awaited.

On the other hand, a young woman student and her husband who are students of Wuhan University in China have been admitted to the isolation ward of SCB Medical. They are under observation, a Health and Family Welfare Department official said.

The H and FW Department has directed all districts to communicate information about people returning from China, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore after January 15, 2020.
